Government and Community Engagement
Goal: Develop strategic investment diversity goals to ensure that JHUM invests in organizations that support underrepresented communities in alignment with our socioeconomic and health priorities.
Future State
- Strive to ensure that all relevant internal and external stakeholders are aware of and promote JHUM’s investment priority areas.
- Establish, socialize, and measure progress against newly established strategic investment diversity goals.
- Increase the number of sponsorship requests from Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC)/lgbtqia+ led community-based organizations/nonprofits.
- Increase the number of sponsorship approved to BIPOC/lgbtqia+ led community-based organizations/nonprofits.
Timeline
- Year 1 – Q2 & Q3 – Revise giving applications to capture organizational leadership and board demographics.
- Year 1 – Q4 – Finalize and implement new giving applications.
- Year 2 – Q1-Q4 – Capture baseline data for investments to BIPOC/lgbtqia+ led community-based organizations/nonprofits.
- Year 2 – Q2-Q4 – Implement post-sponsorship survey.
- Years 3 – 5 – Develop targets for investments supporting BIPOC/lgbtqia+ led community-based organizations/nonprofits.
