Goal: We will establish baseline data for SOE senior staff, faculty, deans, associate deans, and line staff on the Diversity Awareness Profile.  

Future State

  • Implement a change management strategy that SOE senior staff, faculty, deans, associate deans, and line staff use to facilitate various aspects of changes that occur within SOE (e.g., onboarding, retention, recruitment, dismissals, DEI initiatives, etc.)   
  • Institute an annual data collection period (pre/post) of the Diversity Awareness Profile. 
  • Provide evidence of employee professional development efforts that shift or maintain their status as change agents on the Diversity Awareness Profile. 

Timeline

  • Year 1: Obtain copyright permission to administer the Diversity Awareness Profile to all SOE employees on an annual basis. (start of fall semester). 
  • Year 1: Yolanda Abel will take the lead of developing a DEI conceptual model for the Office of Diversity and Faculty Development in concert with SOEs strategic vision (by the end of Summer 2022). 
  • Year 1: Investigate various change management strategies in conjunction with JHU Human Resources personnel. 
  • Year 2: Create a metrics-based school-wide plan that supports the current SOE strategic vision. 
  • Administer the yearly Diversity Awareness Profile assessment. 
  • Years 3-5: Implement and evaluate a school-wide change management strategy. 
  • Administer the yearly Diversity Awareness Profile assessment. 
  • Analyze the impact data from offerings sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Faculty Development. 
  • Assess progress overall and retool as necessary and set new goals to build upon the success of current goals and their outcomes.
